Government incentive programs

Government incentive programs are constantly being updated or changed, so please see the links below for up-to-date information.

To get an idea of what the grants offer in savings, here is a quick summary guide as of January 1st, 2019.

  • Renoclimat is a government grant program that is applicable to units that meet the standards required. Please keep in mind that in order to qualify, you must have your house inspected by Renoclimat PRIOR to any work being done.

  • Bienergy is a program now being offered by Hydro-Quebec. To qualify, a home must have two different heat sources, with each heat source capable of independently providing heat for the entire living space. For those who qualify, Hydro-Quebec offers a reduced electrical rate. Visit the link for more information.

  • Chauffez-vert is also a government grant program which can reimburse you up to $1,650 on approved units. To qualify for the reimbursement, there are certain conditions that must be met. To give you a quick rundown, if you have a central air system, you must be installing a new qualifying electric furnace and heatpump combo. If you currently have a mini split, you must be replacing it with a new qualifying mini split unit per floor. Feel free to ask us for more details and information about which units qualify for this program, or visit the Chauffez-vert website.

Depending on the system, qualifying mini splits can range from $3500 to $6000, and central units that are approved for this rebate start at $8000 (to qualify for the $650 rebate) or $10,000 (to qualify for the full $1650 rebate).

Please note that not all installations will qualify for these programs. Contact us to discuss which program is applicable to your new installation. We also assist in filling out the necessary paperwork so you can get the most out of these grants. These programs can greatly offset the price of your new installation and running costs in the future.
